UpBeat will present Chicago's very own Precious Taylor, backed by the UpBeat Jazz Trio, and will pay tribute to the jazz legends that helped create this marvelous American art form - UpBeat will perform sophisticated renditions of jazz classics, originals, and dynamic arrangements of contemporary.
About our nationally recognized performers:
Michael Cascio
(percussion, piano, vocals) is an accomplished band leader and producer who has been performing professionally for over 25 years with the likes of Eric Clapton, Branford Maraslis, Clark Terry, Brian Culbertson, Von Freeman and Kat Pasons Group to name a few. Michael graduated with honors from DePaul University where he earned a Bachelors degree in performance and composition.
Michael's group, UpBeat, has performed has performed for numerous celebrities and exceptional events, including Jennifer Aniston, Mayor Richard M. Daley, Vince Vaughn, and recently opened for Lionel Richie.
Precious Taylor
is Chicago’s top vocal standard, and recently finished a world tour across Europe and Asia.
She has performed with The Temptations, The Contours, Bruce Thompson, Dennis Brown, and her aunt, the legendary KoKo Taylor, to name a few.
Precious also performed in a private audience of gospel for the Pope at Vatican City, Rome. She recently performed the lead role of Sister Callie in “The Blues Brothers Revival,” produced by Dan Akaroyd.
Josua Ramos
is Chicago's premier top flight bassist, and has traveled the world over for recording sessions/ performances with an amazing resume of artists ranging from Ramsey Lewis's Lincoln Center NewYork Series, to Liquid Soul.
Marcin Fahmy
is one of Chicago's most creative and in demand jazz/ pop session pianists. Marcin is a virtuoso, but his most exceptional talent is in his ability to improvise solo compositions that captivate audiences - his improvisations are soulful expressions that musically connect with everyone.
